By returning to the fundamentals of skin wellness, we can create and use rituals and aromatherapy oils that nourish and support healthy skin, and allow us to tune in to our bodies and listen to their needs.


Going ‘Forward to Basics’ with skin wellness reminds us not just to cleanse our skin but also to remain mindful of gut health and the foods we consume. It emphasises the importance of hydration, breathwork and movement to support skin and body. It prompts us to prioritize rest and relaxation and to take time not just to soothe our skin but to soothe our nervous system. Ultimately it advises us that by taking care of the whole body, we can better care for our skin and promote its long-term health.


With this in mind, allow us to introduce the newest addition to the GROUND Wellbeing family; The Restorative Cleansing Balm. Designed to cleanse, soothe and restore skin function this rich, velvety balm effortlessly melts away impurities, leaving skin feeling clean, soft and refreshed. Infused with a blend of nourishing ingredients that include shea & jojoba this balm is suitable for all skin types and provides a gentle, yet effective cleanse without stripping the skin of its natural oils. A purposeful blend of rosewood & geranium aromatherapy oils combine to offer a unique aroma while working to restore the skin and body in some of the following ways:

  • Geranium helps to balance the skin's natural oils and soothe irritation, making it suitable for use on a range of skin types. These balancing, calming properties make it a useful oil for promoting healthy, glowing skin. MINDFUL SKINCARE MOMENTS 

For most of us creating mindful moments can be rather challenging, especially when we consider the balancing act that is often our work and personal lives. That said, allow us to take this opportunity to encourage and remind each other of the importance of these seemingly simple moments. 

For those of us who don’t have a lot of time to spare, try this:

  1. Take a sparing amount of the balm and warm between the palms

  2. Take a slow deep inhale through the nose and exhale slowly through the mouth

  3. Massage onto face, neck and chest using firm, circular motions

  4. Moisten fingertips with warm water and continue to massage in circular motions

  5. Remove with a warm, damp cotton cleansing cloth

  6. Take a slow deep inhale through the nose and exhale slowly through the mouth.

For those opportunities when there is more time to spare, let's really take the opportunity to breathe life into this self care ritual, perhaps even incorporate this into an existing bath or bedtime ritual: 

  1. Take a generous amount of the balm and warm between the palms

  2. Take a slow deep inhale through the nose and exhale slowly through the mouth

  3. Massage onto face, neck and chest using firm, circular motions

  4. Allow the balm to absorb into the skin while you get comfortable

  5. Close your eyes and bring awareness to your breathing

  6. Relax for 10 minutes in a position you feel safe, held and supported in

  7. This is the optimal time to perform deep belly breathing with a focus on long exhalations to soothe the nervous system

  8. When you are ready, remove with a warm, damp cotton cleansing cloth
