Bedtime Bathing Ritual: Encourage Deeper, More Restful Sleep

Deep restful sleep is critical to overall wellbeing, making it an essential part of a self-care routine.

Taking a warm bath has been shown to improve sleep quality and duration. Timed roughly 60 minutes before bedtime, it increases your body's core temperature and then provides a natural drop when you are finished that signals the body to rest.

Ground Wellbeing products contain pink Himalayan salts that are rich in minerals as well as naturally powerful aromatherapy blends that calm the mind, relaxes the body and soothe the soul.

Time needed: 20-30 mins

Frequency: 2-3 times a week

Preparation: Light a candle and play some soothing music.

Recommended Products:  Sleep Bath Salts or Comfort Bath Salts

Once the tub is full, sprinkle several scoops of the salts and swirl in the water to help them dissolve. Breathe in the aroma and focus your energy on the motion to ease your mind and body into a state of relaxation.

Bring yourself into the present. Appreciate the sensation of water touching your fingertips and the movement of the water as it circles the tub.

As you sink in the water, let go of any stress and begin to focus on your heartbeat and your breathing. Close both eyes and place your hands over your heart. Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of 4. Hold your breath for a count of 7. Exhale completely through your mouth making a whoosh sound to a count of 8. This is one breath, repeat 10 times. This will move your body into a state of relaxation, ready for sleep.

Wrap yourself up in a warm towel or robe to complete your ritual.
